Course overview
The Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) is fast becoming the default qualification required for the financial planning industry. Most leading Australian Dealer Groups today require their financial planners to have the advanced diploma because they require their advisors to be qualified to provide personal advice to suit the financial planning requirements of retail clients with complex needs, such as estate planning, taxation, sophisticated investment planning.

Prerequisite Knowledge
It is recommended that the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) subjects be undertaken before enrolling into the Advanced Diploma. The recommended knowledge requirements for the subjects being studied must be initially satisfied at the Diploma level.
Assessment
All courses have been designed to provide skill-based learning outcomes involving activities, which include short answer responses and practical case studies.
Training delivery
Workshop Course
Interactive classroom courses are the fastest way to achieve your qualification.
Facilitators are skilled at making the workshop experience interactive, interspersing real life examples to stimulate interest. Students of the Advanced Diploma have 8 full days within a workshop environment to complete the required 4 modules of study. In addition, students will have 2 months to complete an external assessment which is to formulate and deliver a Statement of Advice. The use of software to complete the SoA activity is permitted.
Distance Learning
Students of the Advanced Diploma have 4 months to complete the required 4 modules of study. Students are sent course material in hard copy format with all resources provided including an experienced professional facilitator and financial planner, who will be available by telephone and email to provide timely assessment and course material feedback. Once activities are completed, you simply fax or mail to PS146 Training Australia for assessment. Activities are normally assessed within 5 working days. Should any activity be deemed 'not competent', written feedback will be supported in order to provide you with the opportunity to resubmit the activity. The resubmission process is provided at no additional charge.

Taxation Planning - ADFS 1
The first Course (ADFS 1) will qualify You to provide personal advice to clients on taxation planning, including Australian Taxation System Income Tax, FBT, PAYG, HEC, Income, CGT, Retirement Planning, Deductions and Personal Tax Planning.

Estate Planning - ADFS 2
The second Course (ADFS 2) will qualify you to provide personal advice to clients on estate planning, succession planning and key man insurance.
6 units of study:
Unit 1: Estate Planning
Unit 2: Capital Gains Tax
Unit 3: Tax Return for the Deceased Estate
Unit 4: Ownership & Passing on of Assets
Unit 5: Business Succession Planning
Unit 6: Seven Steps of Estate Planning
Investment Planning - ADFS 3
The third Course (ADFS 3) enables you to provide personal advice in relation to portfolio construction, risk and return, diversification, investment styles, research and disclosure.

Financial Planning - ADFS 4
Successful completion of the final Course (ADFS 4) will qualify You to conduct complex financial planning research, determine complex client needs, provide comprehensive monitoring and implement innovate financial plans.
